Chapter 5 Dream Analysis

I think that Victor has this dream because he is feeling guilty about creating the monster. Elizabeth is in his dream because he misses her and he wants to see her. He has been away from her and the rest of his family for a long time. Victor is afraid that Elizabeth is going to die and this dream is foreshadowing her death. Victor also misses his mom. In his dream he saw the, "grave worms crawling in the folds of the flannel" because she is dead. He wishes that he could bring her back to life just like he brought life to the monster. Also, I think that in the dream Elizabeth turned into Victor's mom because Elizabeth gave Victor's mom the scarlet fever and that is how she died. Elizabeth turning into Victor's mom represents the transfer of the scarlet fever.
